From the Cradle to the Sepulchre

The route "From the Cradle to the Sepulchre" unites the two Teresian cities par excellence, Ávila and Alba de Tormes, and offers the pilgrim a historical and spiritual journey in the footsteps of the Santa Teresa de Jesús

Upon arrival in the province of Salamanca, in Mancera de Abajo, the pilgrim has two options, the Northern Way or the Southern Way, both conveniently signposted. The first runs through Mancera de Abajo, Bóveda del Río Almar, Peñaranda de Bracamonte, Nava de Sotrobal, Coca de Alba, Peñarandilla, Garcihernández and Alba de Tormes, a total of approximately 40 kilometers.

The South Way passes through Mancera de Abajo, Macotera, Tordillos, La Lurda, Garcihernández and Alba de Tormes, which reaches about 30 kilometers.

And at the end as a reward, Alba de Tormes, origin of the House of Alba, historical site where the Doctor of the Church died on October 4, 1582. In the convent of the Annunciation is kept his tomb and the great relics of his heart and left arm.

The route is signposted to be traveled in both directions on foot, by bike or on horseback. In the Salamanca area you can choose the northern route with a total of 117 or the south with 107 km. 

The pilgrim can download the credential that will be stamped during the pilgrimage and receive "la Andariega" at the end of the route.
