The Golden Age was lived in Alba de Tormes between the 16th and 17th centuries. It was the period of greatest splendour of the Duchy of Alba, which attracted to the castle-palace writers of great prestige. 

In the Golden Age, Alba de Tormes becomes a small court where culture flourishes in all its facets, accompanied by an intense palatial life.  

Walk the route and you will discover, in every corner you visit, what happened to illustrious people like Lope de Vega, Garcilaso de la Vega, Calderón de la Barca, Juan del Enzina, Santa Teresa de Jesús, San Juan de la Cruz, Fray Juan de Ortega or Miguel de Cervantes himself.
